On God and Daedalus

Picture is from Trails in Casper, Wyoming, Taken with my iPhone in 2018.

Take to heart the lessons of Daedalus,

Whose life moved on after turning murderous,

Leaving the place where he caused such strife,

To distant waters where no one had heard the hype,

Of Daedalus’s avaricious soul, murdering someone

who threatened his Greatest Artist goal.

While Daedalus moved on, God did not,

Meting out justice in one shot,

Killing his beloved son Icarus, against the sun so hot

melting his wax wings, leaving Daedalus with final supernal thought.

You see, Daedalus moved on and had himself a son,

Became well known again for his art, while remaining in denial

For the murder of another for which he had full part.

He never met the justice of the king or the family he ripped asunder,

So God years later took his only son in peals of sunny thunder.

You cannot do the deed and not face punishment,

or escape God’s utter admonishment.
