Safety First...

Everywhere I go this week, I seem to come across the words “Safety First,” as though those two words sum up our everyday goals as individuals and society.

I was personally asked to read these words during a meeting this week...

A friend stated them to me in a text that same day...

These words are listed all over dangerous chemicals...

In workplaces across the country...

Plastered over dangerous items that come with safety labels and poison warnings...

We go to great lengths to drug test our people as to make sure the only chemical they imbibe off the clock are alcohol and caffeine—alcohol to keep you too “happy” to realize how unsafe everything is and caffeine to keep us awake and motivated to work the jobs we hate for pay that is barely one step above a “livable wage.”

The United States military doesn’t properly designate domestic abusers, probably so they can avoid instituting a draft again that would open their deeds up for intense national scrutiny.

Extreme weather is wiping out whole cities and whole territories we are responsible for and the result is many people are in extreme danger.

Meanwhile, Melania Trump gardens in plaid shirts that cost more than my rent.

Donald Trump is President, putting us all at risk and leaving people to die because he doesn’t know the meaning of the words “decent” “worthwhile” or “humanity.”

Oh, right. And yet another mass shooting. This time by yet another angry white male who had no business having a gun.

It, of course, is getting a lot of attention because it was white Christian children who were killed. Meanwhile, it seems Vegas has been virtually forgotten. Just sinning concert goers there. Christians are more important, after all. Especially ones who died actually praying.

Usually Republicans only care about the health of children when they are still fetuses--as evidenced by CHIP still yet to be reinstated so actual live children can get the medical care they desperately need....but white children killed in church while worshipping? Well, by golly, that is definitely something they can point to and make policy from.

Please take notice that Texas officials don’t want to talk about the shooter...

Make no mistake—it isn’t because they have hearts. It’s simply that to talk about the shooter is tantamount to talk about how jacked up their refusal to implement gun control and to stop bowing to the NRA is.

The NRA, by the way, is yet another way-too-powerful-organization that spends its time lobbying for less gun control so they can make more money on every person who dies and buy yet more crooked politicians who care more about money than human lives.

Safety First, America.
